Summer holidays rhyme with sun. For many Belgians, it is often the weather that dictates the choice of holiday. With 3300 hours of sunshine per year in the south of the country and 1600 hours per year in the north, Portugal is one of the sunniest countries in Europe. Summers are certainly hot, but generally not excessively, which not only allows you to indulge in idleness and swimming in the ocean, even for the most cautious, but also allows nature to let its luxuriant vegetation bloom without too much risk of severe drought.
