Disney +: the dates of additions of the latest Marvel films and series

At the launch of Disney+ in 2019the streaming service capitalized more on its catalog of animation classics and its historical archives. Today, the platform is used to expand the universes of its most popular brands and franchises, such as Pixar, Star Wars and of course Marvel.

Beyond cinema, the famous Marvel Cinematic Universe (Where mcu) has thus developed thanks to the series Wanda vision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If…? or Hawkeye. This dynamic is not ready to stop, and even more new series and programs stamped Marvel have been announced for the years to come.

Here is a summary of the next Marvel original series planned on Disney +, as well as the dates of additions of Marvel films on the platform.

Marvel series that recently arrived on Disney+


Hawkeye also has the right to his dedicated series. In this new sequel toAvengers: Endgamethe famous archer returns to service with his disciple Kate Bishop, the one who will then replace him in the band of superheroes.

Jérémy Renner is obviously in the casting, and it is Hailee Steinfeld who gives him the reply in the skin of his young apprentice. the show began airing on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.

Moon Knight

A new hero of the MCU, which is moreover unpublished on the screens, is necessarily good news for the fans. This “Marvel’s Batman” is certainly mainly known to comic book readers, but he is very appreciated by these purists.

The series tells the story of Steven, a low-key salesman with dissociative personality disorder. He shares his body with the spirit of Marc Spector, a mercenary and earthly reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian god, also known as Moon Knight.

The first official trailer of Moon Knight has just been unveiled, and with it the start date of the series: the March 30, 2022.

Miss Marvel

If we wonder how some new players like she hulk will be integrated into the cinematic universe alongside the Avengers, we already know that the character of the young Kamala Khan / Miss Marvel, played by Iman Vellani, will be alongside Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau in the next film The Marvels, scheduled for 2023.

Initially scheduled for the end of 2021, the 6 episode miniseries was first postponed to February 2022. It will finally be broadcast from June 8, 2022 on Disney+.

In this adaptation of the comics of the same name, Jennifer Walters, lawyer by profession, but also cousin of Bruce Banner (alias Hulk), who will play the leading roles.

One day, she finds herself seriously injured by a bullet and will not be able to survive without a blood transfusion as soon as possible. It is Bruce Banner who takes care of it, except that by donating his hemoglobin, Hulk also transmits part of his powers in passing.

She Hulk will be played by Tatiana Maslanyand we will also find Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) and Tim Roth, who played Abomination in the film The Incredible Hulk of 2008.

Secret Invasion

With Nick Fury (Samuel L.Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn). They will have to fight against Skrulls infiltrated for decades on Earth, in their camp, but not only. A first image of an aging Samuel L. Jackson has been revealed.

Loki – season 2

After the public and critical success of the first season, the series about the God of Mischief was naturally renewed. This season 2 will consist of 6 episodeswritten by Eric Martinalready in charge of season 1. The production will be entrusted to the duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Moon Knightt).

We know that Tom Hiddleston will take over the main role of the show, and thatOwen Wilson that of the Mobius agent. Filming is scheduled for spring/summer 2022, for a potential release in June 2023i.e. two years after season 1.

In addition to these three series, many other Marvel programs have been teased, with multiple logos in support. All of these series are in development and do not yet have specific release dates.

Here are the potential release dates for Marvel movies on Disney+. The dates given are indicative, most have not been confirmed by Disney. However, it is likely that the firm does not wait more than the minimum deadline imposed to add the following feature films to the catalog.

  • Captain Marvel- 4 March 2022
  • Avengers: Endgame – April 8, 2022
  • Black Widow July 2024
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings September 2024
  • The Eternals November 2024

The distribution of cinema films on streaming platforms – including Disney+ – is governed in France by media timeline. Each broadcasting mode (television, streaming on demand or by subscription…) thus has a dedicated operating window.

Until this year, Marvel movies like Avengers: Endgame Where Shang Chi had to wait 36 months before being available on Disney+. But it changed the January 24, 2022or a new version of this media chronology signed by French cinema professionals.

Here are the deadlines for this new media timeline :

  • DVD/Blu-ray/VOD : 4 months (3 months if the film has less than 100,000 admissions)
  • Canal+ / OCS : 6 months after the theatrical release of a film (instead of 8 months)
  • netflix : 15 months after discharge (instead of 36 months)
  • Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV+…: 17 months after discharge (instead of 36 months)
  • TF1, M6, France Televisions, Arte : 22 months after release, and broadcast exclusivity for up to 36 months
